THE MEETING

I'll never forget that day,
When we met each other face to face.
When I opened the door I longed to give you sweet embrace.

I should have known you were going to stay.
When I saw you standing there,

You worked on my song and we had supper together,
I just knew we would be together forever.
We became instant friends and talked for hours,
I told you of how my dreams had been soured.
I became sad and you were there for me,
How I longed for you to wrap your arms around me.
We went outside to talk some more,
I continued to tell you how my heart was torn.
You put your hand on my shoulder and that's all it took,
I threw my arms around you as I stood there and shook.
It felt so good when you held me tight,
My tears I could no longer fight.
I told you I was tired of being alone,
I just wanted to make your heart, my home.
I knew that I needed you,
And you realized that you needed me too.
I accepted you with open arms, just how you did me,
And after the clock struck midnight,
We started going out and my heart was set free.
God blessed me with you that cold, clear night,
My heart has never felt so right.
Because of you my heart is mending,
You are my midnight miracle, my endless blessing.
It's hard to imagine that a year has come and gone,
