THE FAITHFUL SERVANT

We lost a faithful servant but only for awhile,
We will see him one sweet day when we've walked that final mile.
To our hearts he was so very dear,
Though he may seem so far away,
He is really very near.
He would not want us to cry for him,
He would say "Don't cry, on Heaven's shore we will meet again."
While on earth he was all God wanted Him to be,
At church on Sundays he would greet you with a handshake and a smile so sweet.
He was always there when someone needed him,
You could always count on him, time and time again.
He will be missed so very much,
So many lives he has truly touched.
He was a great example of God's perfect love,
An angel in disguise God sent from above.
Although we wasn't ready to let him go,
God has called our faithful servant home.
Oh sweet reunion, what a day that will be,
When we see our faithful servant,
And the man from Galilee.
