MY BROTHER, MY FRIEND

I will never forget those days gone by,
It's amazing how those precious times fly.
The plays we did and the fun we had,
Through the good times and the bad.
Yet you still remain my brother, my friend.
You are my guardian angel God sent from above,
You are a good example of God's perfect love.
In time you became my closest friend,
You always will be to the very end.
We shared our dreams, our hopes and tears,
You stood beside me throughout the years.
You are my brother, my friend you remain,
My love for you will never change.
You are my teacher, companion, and role model,
If you could only see that in your footsteps I want to follow.
You are older and very wise,
I look up to you, and I will for the rest of my life.
I'm thankful that you believe in me,
Even when at times I don't believe in myself, you see.
At times I've been sad and you were there for me,
So if there's anything I can do for you, tell me please.
If you need a shoulder to cry on, you can cry on mine,
I will be there to listen time after time.
You have made my life a whole lot better,
You will always be a part of me forever and ever.
If I have a bad day, all I have to do,
Is count my blessings and thank God for you.
So as well travel down this road of life,
I thank you for being my brother, my light.
